Today I'm going to teach you how to draw cute stick figures for your happy journal or planner. We're going to unlock our playful side and see that we don't have to go to art school to learn to draw.

To start, let's take a deep breath and remind ourselves that drawing is for ourselves. Don't compare your squiggly marks with other people's—they are your own. You wouldn't tell your toddler that their doodles are sadly lacking compared to their friends' scribbles, right? I know it's difficult to not compare, but let's say it all together:

I am the conglomerate of past experiences, talents, dreams, and beauty. My doodles will not look like anyone else's. My competition is against myself so I can grow and become the best version of me.

For this exercise, you will need a black pen and a blank sheet of paper. I'm a fan of getting marks on the paper whether or not they're perfect. If you want to go back and perfect your designs, you can use a piece of tracing paper and tweak the bits that were a little off. (P.S. This is the secret of graphic designers everywhere.)
