There are 2 means you can achieve this. The first 1 is to purchase an amp meter and see how much current is drawn when the crockpot is on.

The 2d (and easier) method is to purchase a Impale a Watt meter and it will tell you how much current/power is being used.

On our crockpot, the depression setting consumes about 0.9A, or around 108 watts.

I read the manuf. statistics online for several brands, 300+ watts is what was stated. To me that is not economy.

You accept to empathise that manufacturer'south specs volition generally indicate what the maximum power usage will be during all aspects of testing. Generally any electric appliance draws more power on initial starting time-up than it does running steady.

Every bit I mentioned, our crockpot draws about 108 watts on the low setting. Leaving that run for around viii-ix hours will by and large utilize upwardly around i.5 kilowatt-hours.
